A Little About Me

Hello lovelies,

I'm Ash the founder and owner of Ash's Closet and the mumma of my two beautiful rescue dogs Kobi and Lachy.

Originally from Adelaide, I moved to Rockhampton almost 7 years ago and love the Queensland weather and relaxed lifestyle.

My Job for the last 11 years has been in the medical field of Radiology. My first life passion. I am very devoted to my job and feel privileged to meet so many amazing and inspiring people.

Working alongside my patients on their journey whether it be short or ongoing, is both self-rewarding and humbling.

I enjoy beautiful food and love how it brings people together. I enjoy catching up with my friends on the weekend for brunches, or for an after work dinner catchup during the week. Being so far from home and family, they are my major supporters.

With spending a lot of time with my work indoors, I like to get out, explore and get lost when I can!

How Ash's Closet Started

After going through an emotional trauma just over a year ago in Dec 2022 I was left with very little self-confidence. I had to spend time healing and soul-searching to get back to the person I was and who I missed being.

Never having, had a photoshoot before, I thought it would be a great way to boost my self confidence and would give me a keepsake to remind me of how far I've come moving forward.

My fashion sense has always been bohemian inspired, wearing lace and flowy, floral pieces. Although I had an abundance of dresses to choose from at home, I felt none matched my vision of what I wanted to wear for my photoshoot. After searching high and low in stores, with no luck. I looked online and was stunned at how expensive they were to buy, to only wear for only an hour!

With the thought of many others in the same position as me, not being able to source locally. That sparked my idea of renting out beautiful, one of a kind pieces. I knew photoshoot dress hire was a specific aesthetic and didn't know if anyone would want to hire from me, but I thought I would give it a go. So here we are !

Ash's Closet Was Born

Slowly but surely I was committed and I started to curate a collection of pieces for both maternity and non-maternity clients.

Originally starting with two I purchased for myself. The collection has blossomed into over 25 pieces and will continue to grow.

Sourcing our pieces from a range of both Australian and International labels, like: Reclamation, Zale the Label, Saffron Lane, Coven and Co and Girl In The Sun, to name a few. We continue to keep up with new trends and styles as the seasons change. To ensure our clients have a wide range to choose from, to suit their desired look.

At Ash's Closet, we aim to make our clients feel confident, empowered and beautiful in their own skin, when their special moment is captured. We enjoy spending time with our clients, hearing their stories and providing a personalised service, with a great experience.
